My name is Karen Hicks.  Yes, I do have a first name.  If you are a student then 'Mrs. Hicks' works just fine!  I have been teaching at James Wilson Young for a really long time.  I've even had some of your other teachers as former students.  Yes, I am that old.  I live right next door in Patchogue so there is a really good chance that I will see you around town.  I actually graduated from Patchogue-Medford High School. After graduating, I got my degrees from the University of Delaware and Stony Brook University. I am married with two children.  My son is a sophomore at Stony Brook University and my daughter is in the 11th grade.  I have two dogs - Jessie and Darwin.  That pretty much sums it up.
